Zusammenfassung

In 2005 the Swedish government decided to accept and introduce monthly reading ofpower meters based on the advice from that Economic Affairs Committee. Thisshould be implemented not later than1st of July 2009 for all customers connected tothe energy companies all over Sweden. Several projects started up and most of thecompanies realized that it was a very short time to fulfill these requirements. Europe’sEyes did follow the installation with extreme interest, especially Germany, Benelux,USA and the United Kingdom. In the following chapter the lessons learned and theimportant factors for a Smart Meter Rollout are described from a nordic perspective.
