Abstract

This is a difficult chapter, because: a) several Authors question the term of “benign hemangioendothelioma” and prefer to name it angioma (epithelioid, histiocytoid, cellular). b) Although benign and highly malignant (angiosarcoma) hemangioendotheliomas are clearly distinguishable, it is more difficult and uncertain to recognize the intermediate seemingly low-grade tumors. It is also uncertain whether a progression of malignancy can occur in low-grade hemangioendothelioma.
