Abstract
This is a classical, famous and important result by Leonhard Euler from 1734. One of its key interpretations is that it yields the first nontrivial value ζ(2) of Riemann’s zeta function (see the appendix on page 62). This value is irrational, as we have seen in Chapter 8.
