F.O.T.T. – Mythos oder messbar?

Zusammenfassung

Bisher gibt es im deutschsprachigen Raum nur wenige Studien über physio-, ergotherapeutische oder logopädische Behandlungsansätze, die wissenschaftlichen Kriterien standhalten. Diese Therapieansätze waren zum einen bisher kaum Thema wissenschaftlichen Interesses, zum anderen stellen sich in der vergleichsweise jungen Disziplin Neurorehabilitation – z. B. im Vergleich zu einer Medikamentenwirksamkeitsprüfung – eine Vielzahl ethischer und methodischer Fragen. Der folgende Beitrag soll Therapeuten dazu ermutigen, im kleinen Rahmen zur Therapieforschung der F.O.T.T. beizutragen, solange randomisierte Studien und Effizienznachweise fehlen. Um den Einstieg zu erleichtern, werden zwei Gruppen- und zwei Einzelfallstudiendesigns beschrieben. Danach werden das F.O.T.T. Assessment Profile und ein mögliches Design vorgestellt, das F.O.T.T.- Therapeuten in der Praxis anwenden können.
