This compound (being based on alanine and beta-alanine) is a registered trademark in the USA (by Merck KGaA) representing at the same time an insect repellent and a biopesticide. Its chemical properties are listed in Table 1. Compared to DEET or Saltidin (Picaridin, Icaridin), the repellent against blood-sucking insects is depending on the dosis less effective. Furthermore, no repellent effects are claimed against mites.
