Zusammenfassung

In der Augenheilkunde ist die Ultraschalluntersuchung trotz der Fortentwicklung anderer bildgebender Verfahren [Computertomographie (CT), Kernspintomographie (MRT)] in der Diagnostik von optisch nicht einsehbaren Veränderungen der vorderen 2/3 der Orbita (ca. 4,5 cm ab Hornhautvorderfläche) nach wie vor die Untersuchungsmethode der ersten Wahl.
