Zusammenfassung
Bei der Cholezystolithiasis finden sich Gallensteine in der funktionsfähigen oder nicht funktionierenden Gallenblase. Die Cholezystolithiasis ist mit 10–15% aller Einwohner eine der häufigsten Krankheiten in den Industrieländern. Sie befällt Frauen doppelt so häufig wie Männer und nimmt mit dem Alter zu (im 7. Lebensjahrzehnt 46% aller Einwohner). 80% aller Menschen mit Gallensteinen sind asymptomatisch (Steinträger), und nur bei 20% bestehen Beschwerden (Gallensteinpatienten). Etwa 0,1–0,2% aller Gallensteinpatienten sterben (wenn unbehandelt) an ihrer Krankheit. Somit handelt es sich bei der Cholezystolithiasis um eine gutartige Erkrankung mit günstiger Prognose.
