Summary

The data communication system of the university hospitals in Erlangen uses the office communication system CON-NECT which is based on the database system ADABAS. The first version has been implemented for the dermatological hospital. It was installed in March 1991 and is being tailored to their particular requirements. The communication between the hospitals, institutes, and subsystems in Erlangen will be based on the message handling system X.400, using a private X.25 network which will be replaced by an FDDI ring.
