Abstract

One of the most interesting problems in nuclear physics is provided by the continuous β ray spectrum. As is well known, the assumption that in each β ray disintegration a neutrino is emitted at the same time as the electron allows detailed conservation of energy and angular momentum to be maintained whilst theories of the process by Fermi and later by Uhlenbeck and Konopinski(1) have provided a general explanation of the observed phenomena.
