Abstract

Breast cancer occurring under the age of 35 years is not uncommon; it accounts for nearly 3% of all breast cancers (Langlands and Kerr 1979; Haagensen 1971). It is in this age-group that the diagnosis of curable breast cancer has the greatest potential for subject-years gained.
