Zusammenfassung

Das Harnblasenkarzinom tritt mit einer Häufigkeit von ca. 18 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr und 100 000 Einwohnern in Deutschland auf. Dies entspricht in etwa 3% aller Malignome. Männer sind deutlich häufiger betroffen als Frauen (Prävalenz 3:1). Das Harnblasenkarzinom ist eine Erkrankung des höheren Lebensalters. Nur 5% aller Patienten sind zum Zeitpunkt der Diagnose unter 45 Jahren, das Durchschnittsalter bei Ersterkrankung beträgt 65 Jahre.
