In der Zahnärztlichen- und in der Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie stehen zur Rekonstruktion von Knochendefekten eine Vielzahl von biologischen und synthetischen Materialien zur Verfügung. Die Möglichkeit autologen Knochen zu verwenden, ist durch das mangelnde Angebot bzw. durch die aufwendigen Gewinnungsverfahren beschränkt.
