Zusammenfassung

Auf das erworbene Immundefektssyndrom („acquired immune deficiency syndrome“, AIDS) wurde man erst 1980/81 in den USA und 1982 in Europa aufmerksam, wenn auch Einzelbeobachtungen — retrospektiv betrachtet — bis Ende der 70iger Jahre zurückreichen. Sein Erreger, das humane Immundefektvirus (HIV), hat sich inzwischen pandemisch ausgebreitet und zu einer existentiellen Gefahr entwickelt [1, 53].
