Zusammenfassung

Verschiedene Standardwerke der Medizin wie auch Lehrbücher der Pathologie sehen die Diagnose „Multiorganversagen“ nicht vor. Der Pathologe stellt relativ uniforme Sektionsbefunde der betroffenen Patienten fest, unabhängig vom Grundleiden, das zur Intensivbehandlung führte. BAUE hat dies in seinem Editorial 1975 „Multiple, progressive, or sequential systems failure. A syndrome of the 1970s“ bereits angeführt (1) .
