Abstract

Since the beginning of the preparatory stage of the Kola well drilling project and during its realization, the Ail-Union Research Institute for Drilling Technology and Ail-Union Research Institute for Oil-Field Tubulars, together with expedition personnel, have been continuously developing and improving different drilling tools. Prototype tools were first tested in a full-scale test well in the Ukrainian State Project Planning and Research Institute of Oil Industry and then in a satellite SG-3 well and in the Kola well.
