Zusammenfassung

Während der vergangenen zehn Jahre hat es ein erneutes Interesse an der vermuteten Rolle hormoneller Einflüsse auf die Prognose des cutanen Melanoms gegeben. Eine Reihe von Beobachtungen legen die Annahme nahe, daß gewisse Faktoren wie beispielsweise das Geschlecht des Patienten oder das Vorliegen einer Gravidität möglicherweise das biologische Verhalten dieses Tumors beeinflussen. In den letzten Jahren sind zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen erschienen, in denen offensichtliche Vorteile oder aber eine vollständige Wirkungslosigkeit endokriner Therapiemaßnahmen beim Melanom mitgeteilt wurden, ohne daß dabei verbindliche Schlußfolgerungen hätten angestellt werden können.
