Abstract
Since several years new aspects concerning the treatment of EPH gestosis are becoming more and more important. Included in this framework is the therapy with vascular effective pharmaca. Several authors (among others BERGSTEIN, V. KESSEL) report on positive results with xantinol-nicotinat. In part the therapeutic effect is explained with the increase of the placenta perfusion based on the hemodynamic influence of the substance, in part with its effect on the blood coagulation and the fibrinolysis. Though the activation of the fibrinolysis is possible only over short periods the decrease of the maximum thrombus elasticity described in some reports and the increase of the antithrombin level could be of importance for a longer treatment. Being a placental parameter with a short half-value time HPL seems to be especially appropriate for the evaluation of both the short-term and the long-term alterations in the functional condition of the fetoplacental unit.
