Zusammenfassung

Die Funktionsdiagnostik im Rahmen der Thoraxchirurgie dient der Festlegung der funktionellen Operabilität. Neben der Evaluierung kardialer Risiken kommt der Erfassung pulmonaler Funktionseinbußen besondere Bedeutung zu. Dies gründet in dem Faktum, dass Patienten, die wegen eines Lungenkarzinoms zur Operation anstehen, bedingt durch die inhalative Noxe „Zigarettenrauchen“, die für die Tumorentstehung verantwortlich ist, gleichzeitig in hoher Zahl (in 37–90 %) eine chronische obstruktive Bronchitis sowie ein fortgeschrittenes Lungenemphysem aufweisen — und zusätzlich durch Thorakotomie und Lungenresektion sich die pulmonale Funktion kurzzeitig, teilweise auch anhaltend verschlechtern kann.
