Zusammenfassung

Intraartikuläre Knieschmerzen im Kindes- und Jugendalter sind häufig und stellen den behandelnden Arzt nicht selten vor diagnostische und therapeutische Herausforderungen. Grundsätzlich sollten traumatische und atraumatische Ursachen unterschieden werden, wobei bei Knieschmerzen zwingend auch an Erkrankungen der Hüfte und systemische Ursachen gedacht werden sollte. Aufgrund der wachstumsspezifischen Anatomie und den Entwicklungsphasen des Kindes und Jugendlichen ergeben sich teilweise völlig andere Krankheitsbilder als beim Erwachsenen. Um die jungen Patienten bestmöglich behandeln zu können, ist die Kenntnis der typischen Verletzungen und Erkrankungen, ihrer klinischen Manifestationen, Differenzialdiagnosen und Behandlungsalternativen unumgänglich.
