Herzinsuffizienz und Hypoxämie bei Kindern und Jugendlichen

Zusammenfassung

Herzinsuffizienz im Kindesalter betrifft am häufigsten Säuglinge mit angeborenen Herzfehlern, die eine Volumenbelastung hervorrufen. Während diese durch operative oder interventionelle Behandlung kausal frühzeitig beseitigt werden kann, erfordert die Herzinsuffizienz vor allem bei nur palliativ behandelten Herzfehlern im Langzeitverlauf ebenso wie bei Kardiomyopathien eine medikamentöse Therapie. Wenngleich die wissenschaftlichen Daten für eine evidenzbasierte Therapie im Vergleich zum Erwachsenenalter erheblich geringer sind, stellt das Kapitel die verfügbaren Informationen über die Behandlung sowohl der chronischen als auch der akuten Herzinsuffizienz prägnant dar.
