Zusammenfassung

1967 beschrieb T. Kawasaki bei Kindern eine akute, exanthematöse Erkrankung, die durch anhaltendes therapieresistentes hohes Fieber, Hyperämie der Schleimhäute, zervikale Lymphknotenschwellung und periunguale Hautschuppung charakterisiert war (Kawasaki 1967). Im Verlauf der Erkrankung entwickelten sich bei vielen der betroffenen Kinder Aneurysmen und Thrombosen vorwiegend im Bereich des Koronarsystems.
