Zusammenfassung
Die intrazerebrale Blutung (ICB) ist nach dem ischämischen Hirninfarkt die zweithäufigste Schlaganfallursache. Die Prognose ist bei der Mehrheit der Patienten ungünstig. Etwa 50 % der Patienten sterben an den Folgen der Blutung, meist innerhalb der ersten 30 Tage. Die überlebenden Patienten sind häufig schwer behindert. Nur ca. 20 % der Patienten sind nach 6 Monaten ohne Hilfe selbstständig. Im Vergleich zu Patienten mit ischämischen Schlaganfällen ist aber in Einzelfällen nach einer großen ICB eine unerwartet gute Erholung möglich.
