Zusammenfassung

Die Atemtherapie zählt zu den ältesten meditativen und physiotherapeutischen Interventionen. Sie dient der Verbesserung der Atemkoordiantion, mit dem Ziel, den Gesundheitsstatus des Patienten in seelisch-geistigen sowie physiologischen Belangen zu optim ieren. Atemübungen verbessern zum einen die Atemwahrnehmung und zum anderen die Atemkoordination und somit die Funktion der Atemmuskulatur.
