Die seit Jahren rückläufige Verordnung der Koronarmittel hat sich auch 2005 fortgesetzt. Standardmittel zur Kupierung des akuten Angina-pectoris-Anfalls ist weiterhin Glyceroltrinitrat. Mengenmäßig bedeutsamer ist die Verordnung der Langzeitnitrate Isosorbiddinitrat (ISDN) und Isosorbidmononitrat (ISMN) sowie Molsidomin zur symptomatischen antianginösen Dauertherapie. Pentaerythrityltetranitrat (PETN) wurde 2005 wieder mehr eingesetzt, obwohl Vorteile bisher nicht in Endpunktstudien nachgewiesen wurden.
