Abstract
After metal evaporation onto the samples (dimensions: 4 × 4 × 15 mm3) of floating-zone Reinstsilizium(Wacker-Chemitronic) they have been annealed in a silica-coated upright furnace. The specimens were quenched in diffelen-oil at a rate of ~ 600°C/s. EPR-measurements were performed by means of a Brucker BER 420 spectrometer working at ~ 9 GHz. For neutron activation the samples were irradiated in the FRJ 1 reactor at Juelich (tirrad = 7 d to 35 d, Φth = 14 n cm−1 s”1) and measured after etching of the surface in an anti-compton-γ-spectrometer1). Homogeneity of the solid solution was confirmed by subsequent etching of the samples down to 50 weight percent and repeated measurements.
