Materials Transfer Studies in Engineering Test Loops

Abstract

The application of radio-tracer techniques to the study of various engineering phenomena in three different experimental loops is described. Whilst the engineering principles involved in each of the loops are of great importance the content of this paper has been deliberately restricted in an attempt to indicate some of the ways in which the use of this approach may be of benefit to the engineer. Special attention is given to the use of high resolution gamma-ray spectrometry and the computer programs developed for the interpretation and presentation of the data.
