Abstract
The problem of inflation, from which no industrial country is at present free, is a political problem. The reason that there is worldwide inflation is not that economic theory can offer no way of maintaining the value of a currency, but that the policies required to maintain the value of currencies are not acceptable to democratic electorates and create intolerable political pressures even for authoritarian regimes….
