Characteristic Parameters Model of Traffic Flow in Ring Expressway Based on Physical Attributes

Abstract

In order to ease the traffic pressure of the city center and to solve the complex traffic function demand. Based on the quantitative analysis of the traffic flow characteristics of the Expressway, the paper puts forward the idea of deducing the characteristic parameters of the traffic flow directly with the physical characteristic factors, and establishes the characteristic parameter model of the traffic flow based on the physical attributes. Taking the Xi’an Ring Expressway as an example, the calibration of characteristic parameters of traffic flow based on physical attribute is carried out and compared with the traditional traffic flow characteristic parameter calibration method. The results show that the characteristic model of the traffic flow of the Ring Expressway based on the physical attributes reduces the dependence on the measured data and it can better describe the expressway traffic flow characteristics.
