Abstract
For a nodule that is highly suspicious for lung cancer, a complete patient workup is necessary, which requires adequate staging with imaging and biopsy. Once this is complete, deciding whether or not the patient is a surgical candidate or if the patient would be better treated medically depends on staging and the patient’s functional status. If the patient undergoes surgery, lobectomy is the operation of choice.
