With the many regulations and directives currently in place, it is easy to see how emergency management can become a complicated process, driven by the need to create written plans to meet requirements. In the process of meeting requirements, it is essential the practical aspects of emergency management are not overlooked. Once the bird’s-eye view of emergency planning has been done, it is time to get into the weeds so to speak and determine how emergency planning will play out during a real event.
