Abstract
The second half of the nineteenth century was a time for great discovery. People were introduced to the vacuum cleaner, the light bulb, phonographs, radio, automobiles, and airplanes, among other things. This new beginning was made ever more important because it also ushered in a new era of widespread communication. The new rapid transfer of information was faster, more efficient, and more accurate than ever before.
