Abstract
Obsessive-Compulsive and related disorders have in common persistent or recurrent uncontrollable ideas and/or behaviors that are dysfunctional. In most cases, there seem to be a neural substrate, particularly in the basal ganglia and the frontal lobe, as well as memetic (cultural/ideational) component. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, hoarding disorder, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, and body dysmorphic disorders and their treatments are discussed.
