Abstract

(P1) For any quantity of numbers exceeding one another by a same difference which are in even quantity, the sum of the two extremes is the same as the sum of any two intermediate terms of which one is as distant from the first as the other is from the last; the same will hold if they are in odd quantity but, besides, the sum of the first and the last will be the same as twice the middle one.34
