Abstract
The presented work shows a comparison of various organic zinc salts as accelerators of the used binder system. This comparison includes material parameters, technological tests and parameters of the finished insulation.
The new interest in the well-proven composition and technology of the key VPI isolation system of the HV winding of large rotating electrical machines is due to significant changes in the market for key chemicals of this insulation system. The issue relates to their practical availability associated with the REACH registration requirements and also to the new environmental aspect – one of the key component is mentioned in “REACH SVHC Candidate List for the Year 2019”. This issue is all the more serious because at present there is no alternative VPI insulation system, which could be successfully compared in all technical and technological parameters.
