Abstract

A dialogue between Sarouk and Mensa, about how gaining immortality was at the expense of the idea of humanity. Gene editing could be used to cure diseases like cystic fibrosis. Doctors performing IVFs began to see that they had the answer between life, death, and human suffering, so their instincts drove them in the direction of healing. Diseases like heart disease or schizophrenia didn’t just involve one gene, and sometimes hundreds in combination, so removing some of these resulted in unforeseen mutations, which caused irrevocable speciation.

    An inherited blood disorder, in which the body makes an abnormal form or inadequate amount of hemoglobin the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen resulting in large numbers of red blood cells being destroyed, which leads to anemia.
