Abstract

This chapter addresses culture-infused and socially just counselling in psychotherapy with men, based on concepts from the original model of culture-infused counselling (CIC; Collins & Arthur, 2010a, 2010b) and the revised CIC framework outlined in Chap. 2). The case study of a male client, Jason, offers an account of the clinical work over the course of 12 sessions. Theoretical conceptualizations and illustration of clinical interventions, counsellor reflections, and critiques provide details on the translation of knowledge into practice. The chapter concludes with discussion questions and learning activities to promote counsellor self-reflection and to enhance understanding of the culture-infused model.
