Abstract
We interact with other people almost all of the time, directly or indirectly. Even the presence of other people can influence our behaviour and a great deal of our everyday behaviour is carried in front of people without involving them in what we are actually doing. So, one of the first areas of psychological research which we will be exploring in this chapter is the way that the presence of other people can influence human behaviour.
