Abstract
The situation in Peltigerales is rather different to that in Lecanorales as the order seems to include several distinct lines that are not closely related. The lines are very old and it is not easy to determine connections. It is doubtful if a satisfactory system in that order can be achieved now, and I would prefer to see more informal groupings rather than a rush to introduce formal names. There are also issues to discuss in Lichinales, but there has been little recent research on Gyalectales and Pertusariales.
