Langmuir Solitons and Resonance Absorption in Laser-Irradiated Plasmas

Abstract

Nonlinear Langmuir wave in inhomogeneous plasmas is studied analytically in the model of nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Exact solutions in the form of multisolitons are obtained. The theory is applied to the linearly-transformed Langmuir waves at resonance with a driving field.
