Abstract
Despite the existence of automatic palletizing machines, manual palletizing is still not uncommon. There are several reasons:

Flexibility: the equipment can not easily be moved; must be reset for various size cartons; and can not alternate between two lines simultaneously.

Space requirements and the necessity for special conveyors.

High cost, especially if the equipment may not be used permanently or continuously.
