Abstract
Based on vital microscopy observations on the flow of blood, Knisely in the early 1940 stated the great importance of intravascular aggregation of blood cells for the pathology developing in different organs after shock, tissue injury and various diseases. The significance of aggregation of blood cells for exchange between blood and body cells as well as the exchange between body cells and blood for removal of CO2 and metabolites is still under debate.
