Abstract

As has repeatedly been reported, hyperuricaemia is very frequently accompanied by other diseases as hypertension, adiposity, nephropathy, hyperlipoproteinaemia and diabetes mellitus (1). No investigation of the dependence of the reduction of uric acid on the accompanying diseases, age and sex has been carried out. The aim of this study was to show the effect of benzbromarone in reducing uric acid levels, in relation to existing accompanying diseases, age and sex.
