Abstract

Over the past four decades, the healthcare system has seen a tremendous increase in the acceptance of ambulatory surgery. Ambulatory thyroid surgery has been demonstrated to be safe and is excellent for many patients. However, adoption of this approach has been relatively limited. In this chapter we will review the current standards and controversies specific to ambulatory endocrine surgery.
