Abstract

This case was researched and developed by Janelle Fernandez and was written under the supervision of Alan Carsrud and Malin Brännback. This case examines how families can survive terrible economic and political turmoil and ultimately succumb to the ravages of family turf wars and intrigue. While not typical of the external crises that hit most firms, it is typical of the kinds of issues that occur when the succession process is lacking planning or totally ignored.
