Abstract

Over the last decades, the remarkable improvement of medical and surgical therapy has dramatically increased expectancy of life in Marfan patients. As a result, the number of such patients requiring secondary interventions on the descending thoracic aorta or thoraco-abdominal aorta due to new or residual dissections, rupture and distal aneurysm formation has substantially enlarged. Surgical and endovascular procedures represent two valuable options of treatment, both associated with advantages and drawbacks. Aim of the present chapter was to review surgical and endovascular outcomes in Marfan patients in order to identify a potential role of TEVAR in this context.
