Abstract
The text we have presented has addressed a wide range of issues that mental health nurses will need to be aware of and address in their practice. The text has been written around the competency-based approach and has consistently attempted to address the benchmark criteria. As editors we became very aware of the need to present you with breadth rather than depth and we now take this opportunity to suggest aspects which you may need to consider further as you integrate your enhanced awareness once you qualify (or for your personal and professional development if you are already a qualified mental health nurse).
