Abstract

We have already seen in this text how concerns for community safety have grown over the years. This has been reflected both in the chapter on risk assessment and the last chapter on assertive outreach. This chapter looks at the origins of enforcement stemming from the mental health (patients in the Community) Act (1995) (DoH, 1995) and carries the debate forward into the newly created Multi Agency public protection panels (MApps).
