A review is presented of the various pathways for producing hydrogen from renewable energy sources as well as of various installations in Europe for the development and testing of integrated renewables and hydrogen technologies. Detailed information is given on a recently completed wind-hydrogen installation at the wind park of CRES in Attica, Greece. A Strengths, Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats analysis is also presented for the production of hydrogen from renewable energy sources. This review is based on a study performed under an EC PTA contract (Lymberopoulos, 2005).
