Abstract

There has existed for some time a contrast between the theoretical models of competition, and the way the latter is actually applied by the economy’s leading agents. It is a contrast that has become more accentuated over the years and which, fortunately, has led to new analyses which try to reconcile the two points of view.

This article is based on some essays presented in the book La nuova economia industriale [7].
