A Comparison of the Effects of Uninduced Mouse, Uninduced Rat and Aroclor-induced Rat Liver S9 on Reversion in Salmonella by DAB and CDA

Abstract

As a part of the Second UKEMS Collaborative Study DAB and CDA (Sample B) were tested for the induction of revertants in S. typhimurium TA1538 in the presence of uninduced mouse and uninduced rat liver S9. For the purpose of comparison we also included our own induced rat liver S9, prepared according to the method of Ames et al. (1975) from Fischer 344 rats which had been treated with Aroclor 1254 at 500 mg/kg over a five day period.
